Prevent Package Theft Tips from the Alexandria Police Dept.

 - Encourage family and neighbors to pick up packages as soon as possible after they are delivered.

- Be neighborly. If you can't pick up your mail ask a neighbor to do it for you.

- Track your packages. Try to be present at the time of delivery. Many mail carriers allow you to track your shipment online.

- The U.S. Postal Service can also hold your mail if you travel during the holidays.

 - If shipping through Amazon, use an Amazon locker instead of delivery to your home.

*Be aware of your surroundings, if you see something suspicious, call APD at 703.746.4444 or 9-1-1

Recycle Right – A little care helps us sort it out

Please take time to prepare your recyclables so that they can be effectively sorted.  Boxes should be emptied and flattened; containers should be empty, clean, and dry; and all recyclables should be placed loosely in your cart or bin.  Please, no plastic bags.

If you have any doubt about an item’s 'recyclability', please throw it away as trash. For more information visit: alexandriava.gov/Recycling

North Ridge Receives Beautification Award

NRCA.jpg

Congratulations to Jane Seward, Lynn Gas, the NRCA Board, and neighbors who bought or donated trees through our Canopy Tree Restoration Project! On October 16th, the ABC recognized the NRCA with its 2018 Green Practices Beautification Award. It was as a wonderful ceremony with Mayor Silberberg giving a special shoutout to Jane and Lynn for this project. Thanks to all of you for your support of this innovative North Ridge Project! We will be posting the award sign in a series of places around the community.
