Thanks, North Ridge neighbors, for your tremendous support in celebrating public safety partnerships for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1!

The North Ridge Citizens' Association (NRCA) proudly estimates that more than 300 Alexandria residents took part in this year's NRCA National Night Out celebration, "Light Up the Night, North Ridge!", along with public safety representatives from every city agency.  The event took place from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the field behind George Mason School (2601 Cameron Mills Road).

NRCA offered an evening of neighborly fun focused on building relationships between police, firefighters, emergency responders and neighbors, creating a stronger sense of community support for public safety efforts. Efforts included:

  • A live, local band the Derds
  • A classic car display provided by the Caribbean Classic Car Club of Alexandria
  • A summer picnic spread with Cafe Pizzaiolo pizza and Rocklands barbeque
  • Games, bubbles and glow sticks for kids
  • Rotating exhibitions by Alexandria City Police, Alexandria Sherriff's Office, Alexandria Fire Department and more

Event sponsors included:  The Liz Luke Team, MSAB and Lee Guerry.

Homeowners in North Ridge were also encouraged to turn on their front porch light for National Night Out.
